The One World / Sergey Vashchenko, Musical Connections and Russian Speakers Society presents a rare opportunity to be in the presence and hear the voices of works by two of the greatest masters in the history of violin making.
The Amati family established themselves as the foremost masters of the art of violin making in the 1500’s in the tiny town of Cremona, Italy. Antonius Stradivarius developed his craft as an apprentice to the Amati family and eventually brought the violin to the perfect state that is recognized throughout the world. To this very date scientists and violinmakers from around the world are still striving to uncover the secrets of these great masters.
Join us at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center 7 PM Thursday evening, September 30 for this once in a lifetime opportunity to see and hear music produced on these extraordinary instruments:
Violin by Hieronimus Amati from the year 1610
Violin by Antonius Stradivarius from the year 1724
Mr. Neal will explore the development of violin making from the early efforts by Renaissance makers to the perfect state established by the hands and mind of Stradivarius. Music will be performed by members of the Dallas Chamber Orchestra so that you will actually hear the voices produced by these priceless treasures individually as well as together.
